Co-designer (with E Farnham Butler) of the Controversy line of small sailing yachts of the 1950's and early 1960's. Models such as the 24-foot Amphibi-ette and Amphibicon, with their reverse sheer and glued strip plank construction, were ahead of the their time with their light displacement and trailerability.
