Bjarne Aas ran his own boat yard in Fredrikstad, Norway, building numerous sailing yachts, mainly to his own design. The INTERNATIONAL ONE-DESIGN class was probably his most famous creation, with it's origins linked to the designers racing success under the International Rule.\nThe yard closed in the 1960s, but his son, Henrik Aas, carried on the design tradition.
