Notes: Winner of a design competition in 1964, sponsored by 'Yachting World' magazine for a new, high performance single handed dinghy. \nTOY='Tony's Own Yacht'.\nEnthusiasm for the Toy was soon eclipsed with the arrival of the CONTENDER, winner of the singlehanded dinghy trials, (held at Weymouth, England) just one year later.\nThe TOY uses a sliding seat, which was already loosing favor as a manageable hiking aid.\nClass racing reportedly existed (in the UK) into the mid-1980's. \nSome were imported to US and Canada.
